Welcome to Jennifer Grace Creates Craft and Soul Blog Hop
I have dusted down my lonely blog to join in with this fantastic blog hop.
This is the fantastic prize that Jennifer Grace is giving away ...
Jennifer asked us to ''feature some kind of creative project based on the theme of 'Focus'. This can cover a variety of ideas on how to focus your crafting, about living in the moment, making sure you appreciate the little things, or how to use focal points. You could also just feature icons like targets, frames, arrows, triangles, and cameras. Or do anything that the word 'Focus' inspires you to!''
Initially I had the idea to try a new technique on a layout, focussing on the word 'love', but as the time approached I changed my mind, almost at the last minute! On Tuesday Ali Edwards inspired me to join in with 'A Day in the Life' for the first time.
I have never focused on one day before, I used my android camera to take different photographs throughout the day to capture the ordinary moments. I decided to keep my focus simple and use it as a kind of diary.
I took my final 24 photographs and made a 2 page layout...
page 1 focuses on the morning, getting up going to work and returning home
page 2 focuses on the afternoon cooking my son's fave lunch buying petrol travelling to a work meeting, back home, dinner and bed time!
This is how the 2 pages look together and I am really pleased I chose to focus on 'a day in the life', documenting simple, ordinary, everyday things.
I used one collection, Creative Agenda from Echo Park and one other Echo Park sheet of paper. In honour of Jennifer Grace I added a bit of bling to my pages too!
I hope you are enjoying the blog hop, I hope to join in and visit all the other participants too. Next up is one of my favourite scrappers who takes amazing photographs from her local area, often featured on her layouts. So please head over to the talented Daphne here.
If you have missed the beginning of the blog hop or got a little lost, here is the full list of everyone taking part.

I love, love, love it. I've week in the life before but never the day in. I really love the pictures you've chosen as they show snippets of a very bust and interesting day so well. I love the yellow shades in the paper too

Ah, that's what you were up to!! Love love this page
ReplyDeleteI saw yout Day in the Life pics on instagram and thought what a great idea .... the resulting pages are lovely .... this is something I really need to do!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic DL, really looks good, & very interesting to see how those events & times change in the future
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea, to focus intently on just one day. It will be so interesting to look back on in years to come how you spent your days.
ReplyDeleteYour LO over two pages looks great, and the yellow makes the day look so fun x
I love challenges and ones that are time focused especially ring my bell as there is a beginning and an end. I also love how you show that everyday life can be made interesting, by taking a different view, and what you have done here. Good to see you back in blogland!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great layout to document that day in your life! I especially like how you've done the journaling and recorded so many details from the day.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fabulous idea!! I love how you've gone through your day showing it with photos and your great journaling! Fabulous double spread!!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you've tackled the photos from one day. I've often played along with Ali's Day in the life, but then wonder how best to tackle the photos afterwards as I primarily scrap in 12 x12. May have to borrow the idea when I come to doing my day.
ReplyDeleteAmazing layout, will be interesting to look back on an average day in the years to come :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea!!! Super double layout!!! Might have to give this a go!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps the same day every year????????
ReplyDeleteLovely organized and focused looking LO's. Nicely done and great memory for you.
ReplyDeleteLove love love. Your composition and detail are spot on and so also love your choice of supplies. You have inspired me to do a similar layout - even with my boring boringness that will surely result in lots of car-based photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, looks brilliant - wish I had done something like this from time to time when my kids were young :o)
ReplyDeleteThis is just wonderful! So full of detail and such a great design. Lovely to see you scrapping like this :).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant, love it x
ReplyDeleteGreat way to document a day in the life.
ReplyDeleteLoved your sunny page which leads me to believe it was a happy day! Especially clever were the time stamps used to coincide with the photos. Very fun to look back at these in a year or two :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a super way to document your day. I am going to do this!!
ReplyDeletewow such a super busy day! Love your layout too
ReplyDeleteLoving your double layout. Looks like you had a busy day. I'd not heard of A day in the life before. So am hoping to document one very soon. x
ReplyDeleteLove the photos clustered which leaves lots of space for the line-items. Wonderful spread!!!

Hopping along.....ex-postcard Sian style fellow scrapper!!! Always interesting the 'connections' between scrappers, I think....anyways....ADORE your 'day in the life of...'. It looks excellent & what a wonderful gift for future generations, too:):)
ReplyDeleteA great idea to get all the photos together on a double layout. I have done a Week in my Life once, never a day in my life. It would be pretty boring because when you are working with children, taking photos is not allowed!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I actually managed to do a 'Day in the Life' page!!! I've never done one before and got to say I love it! Thanks heaps for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that I posted a similar page during the event too! I love seeing all your photos from an ordinary day, and I like how you broke all yours down with your journaling too, I'm going to try that next time. The strip of cameras along the top is cool too! Thank you so much for joining in the FYC&S Blog Hop! x
