Wordle blog words

Was just reading one of my fav blogs 'I Speak Melsh' ( I am a daily reader, more frequently sometimes!) and spotted that Mel had used wordle, entered her blog url and come up with an amazing bit of unique word art (here). I have previously used wordle in card making so this was an intriguing idea!

I have blatantly stolen her brilliant idea and created my own piece of bloggy wordle art, sadly after faffing about for ages this is the best image I can produce! Will have to ask Mel how she produced her clear, crisp picture!
Go have a play and see what you come up with! I have obviously written about snow a lot in the last few days as this is the largest word surprise, surprise!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

I was up about 7am trying to check online for messages re the schools closures due to the adverse weather conditions... both were closed. Luckily no work for me today plus hubby is home so we all had a Snow Day together! The children really loved it and were in and out all day. They were very creative with the snow and rather than go for the traditional snowman they decided to make an igloo type creation.

E and M worked really hard with a neighbour, great teamwork.

I have to confess that I didn't hang about outside to see the finished project so will be taking a picture of that tomorrow (unless someone drives into it as it is just outside the house!)

But I did manage to witness Elliot attempting to catch the most enormous snowball thrown at him by hubby!! I love this action shot and the looks on those faces!

I am not sure if I will be able to get to work tomorrow despite the fact I have tried 'phoning numerous times and have left messages, I am still not sure if anyone is actually booked in to see me, so hoping no-one will be! I could possibly walk but it will take me some time as it is nearly 3 miles away and the snow is quite deep and will probably be slippery by tomorrow. Current temperature here is about -4 i think.

Today!

The children returned to school after our happy holidays, so I decided not to stay in the 'empty' house and went sale shopping. I have to admit I didn't really find many bargains but got a few bits for pressies (some even for Christmas 2010!) I suspect I should have gone grocery shopping as the weather has now changed here in Surrey and it may be difficult to get the car out tomorrow!
We heard on the news that there was a predicted 8 inches of snow coming our way but it hadn't been too cold and there was no snowfall here by 7pm. We then had a sprinkling of snow but it all stopped.
Would you believe it all started up again and the snowflakes were literally at least an inch across or bigger! I don't think I have ever seen snow like it before! Elliot got out of bed, got dressed, joined Mols and the 4 of us all went out into our little close and played in the street with the nighbours!

It was such fun!

Really mad crazy run around fun!

Yesterday

Yesterday when I got up the thermometer in the kitchen said the outside temperature was -5! (and it wasn't very early as it was the last 'day of the lie in' as today brought with it the return of the school run). We had no snow at all and all that was visible was a heavy ground frost. As I gazed out the kitchen window I spotted this...

I am not sure exactly what it is, a type of narcissus and a rubbish photo I'm afraid, but for some unexplainable reason in the coldest of temperatures it had decided to bloom. I love things like this, as it just goes to show that against all the odds and sometimes the laws of nature, miracles can and do happen xxx
On a very silly note we all went to the local theatre and saw Cinderella last night. It was hilarious and we all laughed out loud. Plus it starred Gethin Jones which can only be a bonus! Sadly I forgot my camera (pretty rubbish seeing as I am attempting a photo + a day and meant to be taking my camera everywhere!) I did take a few with my mobile but not really sure how to use the camera on it properly... something else I have to learn.
Was very excited to read about Shimelles free class (Document 2010) over on UKS for scrapbooking it sounds exactly what I need so will be following it very closely, watch this space there may soon be some scrapbooking going on!!!

A trip down gaming memory lane

Ages ago we bought a couple of 'plug 'n' play' games. They are very portable as they plug directly into any television so were handy for holidays or an easily set up quick fix! They have remained forgotten in a cupboard upstairs but the children re-discovered them today. This is what they ended up playing today

PACMAN!!! I have many happy memories of wasted time on the super large gaming machines in my youth! Do you remember Pacman? I know it shows my age but those creatures are sooo cute!

A relaxing day at home

The original plan for this weekend was a trip to Dorset to see the in laws, but MIL is unwell so the trip has been postponed and we have stayed at home. I must confess I was quite happy to have a few days chilling at home and so were the children. As I have probably said numerous times before elliot loves a 'jammy day' and he managed to stay indoors in his pyjamas all day today. His first love is playing on any electronic device and I caught him and Molly in action, in Pj's, in the lounge, on the Wii!
Look at the concentration on their faces! I think they were arguing over gaming strategy at this point! These are my photos for today a simple memory of a shared time. Molly and I did go out sale shopping, which was quite unsuccessful we only spent £2.99 and Molly didn't manage to get anything she wanted. Good for saving money I guess though.

What are your goals for 2010??

This was the title of a post from Kate over at Liberty Cottage a few days ago. I thought I had posted a reply but can't see it now and I have been thinking about my 'aims' as scrappyjacky phrased it. So in no particular order here are my goals for 2010....

ORGANISE
my crafting items and my crafting time
the house! I am going to start of small organiseing a shelf or drawer a week minimum
my time and energy (there is never enough to go round so going to be picky how I spend it!)
meals/ shopping (meal planning and watching my budget)
birthdays / Christmas (did pretty well this year and going to keep up with MSE threads again)

BE THANKFUL
for the many things I already have and not always be looking for more
for my wonderful hubby, children and family/friends ( I really need to spend more time with everyone and cherish all those near and dear to me)
for health and happiness and all the other blessings that money cannot buy
for the good things and not dwell on the bad (at the moment I keep saying that hubby has only had a job for 4 months out of the last 9 and it is making me very negative so I need to turn this around and get on with it and keep fingers crossed another contract is found soon)

MY AIMS
overall to increase my creativity
I am going to take a 'photo a day' aka project 365
journal about my day either here and/or in a diary so I don't forget
blog as much as possible (blogging became an almost daily habit during the advent swop and i want to continue)
continue to make not buy cards (try and make them in advance and enter challenges)
THE BIG ONE....Scrapbooking .. been meaning to start for years, I've bought all the stash, read all the books, studied the blogs but never even started one layout. So if anyone has any tips or must do's or anything else they wish to impart please do leave a comment!!

So what are your goals for 2010????
