Scrapping Challenges!

Hiya if anyone is still out there following this neglected blog!

I have had such a fantastic week scrapping...last weekend Shimelle introduced a list of challenges for National Scrapbooking Day and I have been working my way through them.

This weekend I went away for the inaugral Like For Ever Kit Subscribers Retreat...it was amazing!  A wonderful group of talented scrappers in a wonderful venue (the Woodlands at Hothorpe Hall) fab food and lots of scrapping!

So here is what I have been up to....

this is for Shimelle's first challenge where I went monochromatic, used 2 selfies, hearts and old and new stash! I also used this page for the weekly challenge over at UKS

For challenge 2 'something of value' I used a page kit (prepared by Julie as a gift for each of us at the retreat), changed a few things to make it my own and came up with this layout of hubby and I, a relationship and person I truly value.

Shimelle suggested a colour block for her 3rd challenge and this fitted in perfectly with the sketch we were given at the retreat...I opened my gorgeous new Simple Stories Life in Colour bits and pieces... just perfect!

I used this picture of my Dad and I for the older photo challenge. He passed away  18 months ago and it is still difficult to scrap about him, but I loved this simple page and wonderful sentiment cut from a sheet of Simple Stories Heart collection.

The large photo challenge prompted me to use this picture of my son from several years ago taking my the professional photographer at the football tournament. Sadly he has been unable to play any sport due to illness for several years now so I haven't yet journalled on this page as want to talk to him about it.

this page combines the UKS monthly House challenge (a sketch) with a magic theme from LFE (so it had to be Harry Potter!) and Shimelle's frame inspired page.  I used 5 different frames 3 of which I altered to fit the colours/style of page.

I didn't complete a page for the circle challenge sadly, but I did make this page for the colour challenge which I really enjoyed...

My final page used a photograph taken for the UKS snap photography challenge this month (spring flowers) combining it with stash from Shimelle's first collection...I initially thought I didn't have much but managed to find a cut apart double sided sheet, some ephemera, some stickers/alphas and some cork embellishments. So other than the black cardstock I only used Shimelle's first collection and ended up loving the page.

A huge thank you to Shimelle for all the inspiration, UKS for the ongoing community and weekly challenges and of course to everyone at the LFE retreat especially the mega organised and super lovely Nicola xxx
